Seacliffe Avenue House
An expansive residence on large clifftop site with fantastic views of Aucklands Waitemata harbour. It was designed in association with Sang Architects for a client who has strong links to Japan. The house exploits the perfect northern view to Rangitoto with infinity edge pool but also encloses two more sheltered outdoor zones, one a Japanese garden, the other a “kiwi” garden complete with cricket pitch.
The entry foyer is makes a dramatic entry statement and links to the main house by means of bridge-like gallery that spans these garden areas and forms the main axis of the house. Constructed largely of concrete masonry, the exterior finishes include Alucobond panels and limestone. Landscaping is by Ted Smyth.
